Blackwater is a small town on the borders of Surrey and Hampshire. The town is mainly residential, with some fantastic Victorian 1960s homes, but many do visit the Blackwater Valley. The 23-mile stretch of woodland is the perfect place to walk the dog, cycle, or have a weekend walk.

Things to Do in and Around Blackwater

Whilst the highlight of Blackwater is the stunning Blackwater Valley, there are countless things to get up to in and around Blackwater. Camberley, just a 10-minute drive away, is home to Gravity Force; a huge trampoline park and a great place for kids and adults alike!

Camberley also has a leisure centre if you fancy a dip, Bowplex, a cinema, and shopping facilities.

A popular afternoon out when the weather is agreeable is Shepherd Meadows in Sandhurst. Just over a mile from Blackwater, the 28-hectare spot of the countryside is home to an adventure play area, skate-park, football pitches and cricket pitches. With a wonderful lake and café, it is a great place to soak up some sun or go for a stroll.

Blackwater Transport Links

Blackwater sits on the A30, which is handy enough in itself. However, the M3 is just a stone’s throw south of the town and can be joined at junction 4 in Frimley. The M3 heads into South West London and snakes down to the coast a Southampton. Those working in Woking, Bracknell, Guildford, Farnham and Farnborough should find commuting by car relatively easy, with the usual peak congestion.

Blackwater train station has two platforms and sits on the Reading to Redhill line. Trains from platform one head from Blackwater to Redhill and Gatwick Airport. In the opposite direction, trains travel from Blackwater to Reading in around 20 minutes depending on the service.

Blackwater town itself has a number of local regional buses and reliable taxi firms available.
