Located in the Surrey Heath district, Lightwater is village surrounded by the Bagshot, Camberley, West End and Woking. Those who live in Lightwater benefit from the country park which has a visitor centre, lakes and countless nature trails. Schools in Lightwater

There are two schools in the village of Lightwater itself; Lightwater Village School and Hammond School. Lightwater Village School caters for children aged four to seven and was awarded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Hammond School is a KS2 facility, providing education for children in years three to six. It was awarded ‘good’ in its latest Ofsted inspection.

To the north east of Lightwater is Windlesham, which is home to Windlesham Village Infants School. Two local prep schools, Woodcote and Hall Grove, are also located here.

Nearby Bagshot is home to Connaught Junior School and Collingwood College (a state secondary school with sixth form). Gordon’s School and Holy Trinity CofE are to the south, in Woking.

 

Getting Around Lightwater

For those who commute by car, Lightwater is just south of the M3 – one of the main arterial roads in London and spanning down to Southampton. The M3 also connects with the M25. Towns such as Woking, Farnborough, Camberley and Bracknell are all easily accessible. Heathrow Airport is just a 30-minute drive away.

Although Lightwater doesn’t have its own train station, the nearest is just a couple of miles away in Bagshot and can easily be reached by car, bus or bicycle. Trains operate between Ascot and Guildford (via Bagshot and Aldershot) every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 60 minutes on Sundays. For commuters to the city, there are three trains in the morning that continue past Ascot to London Waterloo and two from London in the evening.

Lightwater and the surrounding areas are served by a number of regional and local buses.
